Underwhelmed

Why does a man build a world so tall, and break the wings of the nearby man?

The magnificent castles
are a beauty to behold.
Were the everyday tussles
given in exchange for the luxury not foretold?

Permeating the chest of the heaven
are the unending skysrapers.
Were men not told to bear the burden
of carrying one another on the shoulders?

When men fly many miles to miles,
do they realize the ease to make a man smile?
Can we give out our shoulders without demur?
Cuz, on it the distraught may be able to smile.

Why does a man build a world so tall,
and break the wings of the nearby man?
When the birds gather singing on the treetop,
does a man only look down upon another, a tower below?

Why do we not rise together,
why?
Why do we not rise together as one?

Wishing aspirants well in our JCR elections tomorrow

I call on the electoral commission to ensure a seamless election exercise, aspirants to enable peace to reign, and supporters of the various aspirants to accept that this is an election to unite us yet again and not divide us.

Letter to Paradise

The theme of this poem is love. In very simple terms, it extols a woman, her beauty and virtues.
