Stay With Me – Poetry Recital

The 4th edition of my Friday Poetry Series.

When I fell in love with you
I thought it was meant to be forever
Maybe I miscalculated where this was bringing us to
I never saw us being put asunder
It’s not like I don’t appreciate all you did with me
But if it has to end this way, why did it start ever?

Time and Time again you said you loved me much as I did you
We couldn’t even age, here we are resentful of each other
You said maybe, we weren’t meant to be together
Are you guessing? What if you’re wrong; we are soulmates till hereafter?
I don’t think it’s time to let go, let’s make amends, make things better
Things might be rough and tough now, but with you and me, I know the future is brighter.

Stay with me baby, you are the reason I want to live older
Don’t go away lady, be a part of my future.
