Letter To The Most High – Poetry Recital

This is the 6th edition of my Friday Poetry Series.

Dear most high,
I write this letter to you not because I’m high
I know we’ll you hear from is from far or night
Even before we call your name you know why
And you know where the birds will perch before they fly
Permit me to write this epistle because I’m shy
I will try
But pardon me where I go wrong or lie
I write to thank you for letting me not die
For many souls wished they saw this Ramadan but in their graves, they lie
God, this letter is to exalt you but pardon me if I cry
For my friends and relatives have died without saying goodbye
Dear Allah I’m not complaining I pray in their graves you make their good deeds their ally
And from your throne, I pray you to watch over them with your merciful eye
Forgive them Yaa Rabb even if their sins can swallow the sky
And make our teary eyes dry
And give us the patience to come to terms with their loss, most high

Until I write to you again, goodbye.
