USA’s first National Youth Poet Laureate, Amanda Gorman, has graced the inauguration of President Joe Bide and Vice President Kamala Harris with a poetry reading. The 22-year-old wrote the poem entitled The Hill We Climb for the sole purpose of the inauguration.
Aside from her poetry performance, singers such as Jennifer Lopez, Lady Gaga, and Garth Brooks performed on the august occasion.
In her poem, Gorman highlighted the strength of America and the American people. She talked about the infinite possibilities that exist in America. Amid a polarized union and aftermath of a divisive election period, Gorman underscored the need for unity and what it means to America and its people.
